Within a month of starting our membership drive in Ogun State, more than 150,000 active members joined the CityBoy Movement. Every one of them signed up because they believe in what we’re doing.

That’s a milestone, and we’re proud of it. But we see it as a foundation. Our goal is to build a verifiable grassroots network of over 500,000 members across Ogun before January 2027.

On Saturday, 3 October 2026, we inaugurated our state executives and opened our new state secretariat in Abeokuta. Our Director-General, Dr Abdulateef Sulaimon, reminded everyone what this work is about: taking the President’s mandate to the grassroots, engaging our people where they live, explaining the administration’s programmes and policies, and encouraging young people to take part responsibly in the democratic process.

We were honoured to host the APC governorship candidate, Senator Adeola Olamilekan (Yayi); the Minister of State for Health, Dr Ishaq Salako; the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, Sunday Dare; and the President’s Personal Assistant on Special Duties, Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf. His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, was represented by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.

Senator Olamilekan set a clear target for us. Ogun has more than three million registered voters, and he believes the state should deliver at least two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. He pointed to what this administration has brought to Ogun: the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Expressway, the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta, and the upgrade of Tai Solarin University of Education to a federal university.

Our National Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, gave our new executives their charge: take the movement into all 20 local government areas, reach young people, and build a disciplined structure ready for 2027. He described these appointments as a call to service. We accept that call. We also thank Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf for his leadership and commitment to the movement in Ogun State.

To everyone who has joined us: thank you. To everyone who hasn’t yet: there’s a place for you in your ward and your polling unit. Let’s work together.
